It is reported that in order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has decided to increase supervision of e-commerce platforms and online products, and will recently launch a round of strict product compliance review activities
Focus will be placed on whether all products sold online display the PS/ICC logo on the product description page in accordance with relevant regulations.
The PS/ICC mark is the Philippine Bureau of Standards (PS) quality and safety certification mark, and the Imported Goods Clearance (ICC) certification mark.
These two certifications are regarded as a guide and guarantee for Filipino consumers, ensuring that they are purchasing products that comply with the regulations of the National Bureau of Standards (PNS) and meet the standards of quality and product safety.
It is worth mentioning that the Philippine Bureau of Standards has previously launched a compulsory product certification program, requiring 111 product categories including household appliances, chemical products, and steel, whether locally manufactured or imported, to be equipped with PS Or ICC logo, otherwise it cannot be sold in the Philippine market, and this sweep of online products is based on this regulation.
