The Most Commonly Used E-commerce Platform By Indonesian Consumers

In recent years, online shopping has become a new choice for Indonesian consumers to meet their daily needs. However, due to different platform product types, promotions, and service features, consumers have different preferences.
According to the latest YouGov survey, Shopee is the most commonly used e-commerce platform among Indonesian consumers, with 73% of respondents saying they had shopped on the platform last month.
Tokopedia ranked second, with 39% of respondents saying they shopped on the platform in the last month;
Lazada ranked third, with 22% of respondents reporting shopping on the platform in the last month.
Meanwhile, 6% of respondents shopped on the Bukalapak last month. 4% and 2% of respondents shopped on BliBli and Zalora respectively.
According to a survey conducted by Jakpat, as many as 88% of Indonesian consumers are actively shopping online in the second half of 2023, and the average monthly expenditure per person on online shopping is 429,000 Indonesian rupiah .
Specifically:
34% of respondents spend less than IDR 200,000 on online shopping per month;
20% of respondents spend between IDR 200,000 and IDR 400,000 per month;
20% of respondents spend between IDR 400,000 and IDR 600,000 per month;
9% of respondents spend between IDR 600,000 and IDR 800,000 per month;
6% of the respondents spent between IDR 800,000 and IDR 1 million per month;
11% of respondents spend more than IDR 1 million per month.
