It is reported that Shopee Malaysia will increase the verified user limit of its ShopeePay e-wallet from RM4,999 to RM9,999 from December 4.

This move is aimed at providing users with greater transaction flexibility and a better service experience. After passing the eKYC (electronic identity verification) process, the user's account will be upgraded to a premium account and enjoy a higher e-wallet limit.
It is worth noting that the verification process of ShopeePay will also be updated to add a video verification link. Users now need to not only upload a photo of MyKad through the Shopee mobile application, but also record a short video to complete the verification.
Although this additional step may extend the backend processing time, the overall process is still relatively simple.

For users who fail to pass the verification, their e-wallet limit remains at RM2,999. Users are strongly recommended to complete the eKYC verification as soon as possible to avoid possible service restrictions in the future. Although the specific restrictions have not yet been clarified, the increase in e-wallet limits will undoubtedly provide greater convenience for users who frequently use ShopeePay.
