Since 2020, Apple has officially cooperated with Shopee and Lazada in Vietnam and opened official flagship stores on these two platforms. These stores are operated by trading platforms and sell Apple products directly to users.
In addition, two Apple authorized sales partners (AARs), ShopDunk and Viettel Store, also sell Apple products on Shopee and Lazada. According to a report by market research company Metric, Apple is the brand with the highest revenue on all e-commerce platforms in Vietnam, accounting for 24% of the revenue of the top ten brands.
In 2023, Apple's revenue through online channels is estimated to be 3.6 trillion VND. On Shopee, Apple's revenue in the past 30 days was close to 380 billion VND, with the iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB being the best-selling product.
In contrast, the situation of TikTok Shop is more complicated. Although some domestic dealers have reached an agreement with Apple on the distribution of products on the platform, sales have not maintained previous levels after Apple intervened in the platform business.
On TikTok Shop, products cannot be displayed in live broadcasts or short videos, which has led to a decline in sales. The agreement between resellers and Apple stipulates strict sales conditions, including that they cannot sell products during live broadcasts or attach shopping links to videos.
